Macheda On Mourinho

Former Manchester United player Federico Macheda believes that his former team should stick with Jose Mourinho as manager despite the average season that they had this season. He said that the team has improved a lot since the Portuguese manager has taken over from Louis Van Gaal and it is important that he is given time to build the team.

He said that there are players that he has signed that still needs time to settle and that he is sure that once they find their best form Manchester United will become stronger. He said that players such as Alexis Sanchez and Pogba were performing well at their previous clubs and it will take some time for them to get back to their best level. MACHEDA IS FIRING AGAIN IN ITALY

Federico Macheda burst onto the stage at Manchester United as a 17-year-old, scoring a late winner on his debut to help the Red Devils win title in 2009.

The Italian forward went on to play for various Championship outfits Doncaster, Birmingham and Cardiff and was largely disappointing in each of those spells.

The boy wonder is now 25 years old, plying his trade in Serie B side Novara and has a baby son of his own, two-month-old Lorenzo. Federico Macheda will never be forgotten for his title-winning impact on Manchester United at 17 but he is determined it will not be the only thing for which his career is remembered.

It is now eight years since Macheda scored a dramatic winner on his debut against Aston Villa and was immediately compared with Ryan Giggs, Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney, not least by his own manager Sir Alex Ferguson but the Italian couldn’t live up to the expectations he was facing. WILL RASHFORD FLOURISH THIS TERM?

Manchester United luredRomeluLukaku from Everton FC and could add Ivan Perisic this summer.

Jose Mourinho has decided to retain Anthony Martial and there is the club’s top prospect Marcus Rashford. Will the Three Lions’ star flourish this term as he has in the past two seasons?

Rashford was decisive last term and he helped the team generally despite not banging in the goals as many expected. He is not anywhere close to the likes of Ruud van Nistelrooy, Ole Gunnar Solksjaer, Carlos Tevez or Robin van Persie. His composure, finishing and one-chance accuracy are still off the mark but there is hope.

For the first time in a while, Mourinho could play two strikers upfront in the forthcoming season. As a lone striker, the young Marcus was largely isolated upfront, preferring to rely on his speed. Continue reading WILL RASHFORD FLOURISH THIS TERM?

WHAT NEXT WTH VINICIUS JUNIOR?

Real Madrid spent £38.7 million on South American youngster Vinicius Junior recently.

There have been endless compilations of the player’s brilliance to explain why Madrid made the move. He is officially one of the most expensive youth players of all times.

Many predict that he is the future ‘Galaticos’ at the Bernabeu but have we not heard that story too many times? Norwegian star Martin Odegaard was celebrated as much when he moved to Madrid in 2015. He was expected to play in the Team B with Zinedine Zidane coaching and also with the senior team. The end result is that he is a winner of the 2015/16 Champions League without kicking the ball at all. He is rotting away somewhere playing on loan.

BojanKrkic was the same thing at Barcelona. He even scored ten goals in his debut season at NouCamp, many labelled him the new Lionel Messi. After many years, he is on a loan deal at Mainz 05 after time at Milan, Ajax and Stoke City.

Manchester United had theirs in Federico Macheda. The 17-year old entered the Premier League with a bang, helping the club secure the title against Liverpool. He currently plays in the Serie B in Italy after years of failure. Continue reading WHAT NEXT WTH VINICIUS JUNIOR?

MAN UNITED AIMING FOR TOP FOUR

Premier League giants Manchester United are aiming for a top four this season, and it would be a good season if they pull it off, considering how things went south at some point.

Liverpool are going to be their biggest challengers for the spot since Manchester City and Tottenham seem to have resigned to end behind Chelsea.

United were on sixth spot for such a long time that moving into fifth, with two games in hands, have opened up new hopes to get a Champions League spot. While they are still one of the leading sides to lift the Europa League, they could get an extra lifeline if they maintain their pressure on the top four spot.

Arsenal’s shock loss to West Brom and United’s victory over Middlesbrough opened up the race. Coach Jose Mourinho has publicly stated that he would love to get another trophy, that is, the Europa League instead of getting a guaranteed Champions League spot. The Portuguese tactician wants the title United have never won to add to the EFL Cup title he received ahead of Southampton.

United’s unbeaten run since Chelsea’s 4-0 humiliation has helped them to their current position after 27 games. In any other season in the past, the current pull of points could help United get Champions League spot but this season is different. Continue reading MAN UNITED AIMING FOR TOP FOUR

MACHEDA REVEALS FERGUSON CALL

Manchester United failed prodigy Federico Macheda has revealed that former manager Sir Alex Ferguson called him to encourage him as he attempts to revive his football career.

The Italian player was a youth sensation during the early days of his career but he has failed to live up to the hype.

Macheda was released by Cardiff City after a disappointing run in August. The player managed to score eight goals after 33 games hence his release by the Bluebirds after two years.

“This will be a new beginning for me. I will take what has happened in the past with me but now only the present counts and the future.

“My goal is to do well from the start; I will have a couple of weeks when I will make a mini preparation to ensure my condition is optimal. My goal is to jump right in the squad,” Macheda wrote on his page on Facebook.

The player, who has spent time at Sampdoria, Queen Park Rangers, Vfb Stuggart, Doncaster Rovers and Birmingham City, was the youngster that got the winner for the Red Devils to seal the title in 2009 at the age of 17.   Continue reading MACHEDA REVEALS FERGUSON CALL

MachedaUnaware of Any Interest from Napoli

Former Manchester United striker Federico Machedawas widely expected to leave English football in the summer, but the move never happened.

After breaking through the ranks at Manchester United,Macheda made a spectacular start to his career at Old Trafford only to falter away slowly. He has played for several clubs like Stuttgart, QPR, Birmingham City, and Doncaster Rovers on loan deals before he permanently moved to the Cardiff City in 2014. This was expected to provide him with a foundation to build upon his career, as loan deals do not really help the player over the long-term.

This was not to be the case,as Macheda struggled even with the club that had just been relegated to the Championship. Playing in a division below the Premier League did not seem to help the striker and it was arrived at the conclusion that the player would benefit from a move back to Italy. Currently playing with Cardiff City, the striker has never settled in English football after exploding onto the scene when playing for United.Macheda had one of the sensational first few matches for such a major club like United. However, he had been unable to keep up his reputation of scoring key goals and this led to one loan move after the other. Sir Alex Ferguson kept a lot of faith in the Italian striker before finally deciding to sell him in 2014.

The striker was expected to get some much needed regular first-team football at Cardiff. After having moved to the bluebirds on a free transfer,Macheda was given opportunities to impress. However, recurring injuries and poor form as a result of it meant thatMacheda’s form never improved. Following the club’s relegation to the Championship last season, Cardiff started looking at other alternatives and sent the player out on loan to Nottingham Forest in order to keep up his fitness levels.
