Cardiff City clearing out Club to sustain

Cardiff City appeared to be in the process of mass clear out as the club have already sold five players since the appointment of Russell Slade as the permanent manager.

More names are expected to follow in the last few days of the transfer window and Slade has given a warning to supporters that the club are no longer in the market for top names. This is widely expected to be the norm at Cardiff for the next few transfer windows given that the club has slipped away from the top six. The sale also appears to hint at Cardiff owner Vincent Tan withdrawing his commitment.

Tan made several changes to the club – including the colour of the shirt – this season and it has been seen as a way to pacify the supporters. Slade, though, reiterated that Tan remains committed to the Cardiff cause as ever. Continue reading Cardiff City clearing out Club to sustain

Russell Slade unhappy with Young Players Performance

Russell Slade, the man in charge of Cardiff City, is a little disappointed to see his talented, young players not being able to play as well as they can.

In the previous game versus Rotherham which is not the strongest of the Championship teams, Slade started with the 25-year old Kim Bo-Kyung, but, that move did not work as the young midfielder struggled in the game.

The game finished as a scoreless draw which was not such a bad result for Rotherham, but, for Cardiff, it was certainly not what they would have wanted.

The fans found it very hard to digest the fact that Cardiff could not defeat a comparatively weaker side in home conditions and they ended up booing their own players.

Talking to the press later that evening, Slade said, “Kim had been playing well for the development squad. So, we thought it’s the right time for him to be brought in, but, he could not live up to it. He tried, but, he does not seem to be a finished product yet.”

“He had earned his place in the XI, but, at this point of time, I can’t say if he is going to be retained in the next game or not.”

“Ravel is another one whom we rate quite high. But, he tends to waste his energy at times.”

Slade did not criticize the fans for booing. According to him, the fans are quite attached to the team and thus, they feel bad when there is string of negative results.

In the words of Slade, “You would have seen the atmosphere a couple of years back when the boys had earned promotion. The fans were buzzing. But, now, obviously, it’s different as we have not been able to produce the goods. The perspective of the fans can be understood.”

Macheda Makes Standout PErformance

Federico Macheda’s first match as a player of Cardiff City occurred during his clubs’ match against Port Vale in the Capital One Cup and the Italian forward made a standout performance in his debut game as he scored 2 goals which helped Cardiff City in sealing a hard fought 3-2 triumph over Port Vale.

The boss of Cardiff City, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer praised Macheda’s debut match as the Norwegian manager told reporters:  “When a striker scores two goals on his debut, that’s fantastic. First half we dominated possession… we don’t shoot enough, we don’t finish enough – we get into some great positions and we’re just a little bit shot-shy,”

It was a great way for Macheda to initiate his career in his new club, in a club that is aiming to make a return to the Premier League as they were playing in the top tier English League in the previous season but were relegated after finishing at the very last spot.

Cardiff City’s latest campaign in the Premier League saw them only managing to secure 7 triumphs in the entire season and the consistent series of negative results sparked a sequence of rumors stating that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was on the verge of being sacked as the coach of Cardiff City but the owner of the club, Vincent Tan gave the Norwegian one season for him to push the team and make a return to the Premier League.

The owner of Cardiff City, Vincent Tan said:  “I told Ole: ‘I want you to continue, but you have to bring us back to the Premier League next season. I will help you. I will support you.’”

Guido Burstaller, Javi Guerra, Adam Le Fondre, Federicho Macheda, Kagisho Dikgacoi, Charlie Horton, Tom Adeyemi, Danny Johnson, Anthony Pilkington and Sean Morrison are all of the players that were signed by Cardiff City as reinforments for the team that its main objective is to make a return to the top tier English League.
