MACHEDA MAKES HIS MARK

Despite his young age (20 years old) Federico Macheda has already had quite an impact on English football. In his first full team appearance for Manchester United Macheda scored a superb winner against Aston Villa and went on to make some important performance in the run in to United’s league winning campaign in the 2008-2009 season, as well as winning the United academy player of year award.

Despite this promising start the following two years proved less fruitful and Macheda was moved on loan to Samporia and more recently Queens Park Rangers. With little impact during his loan spells it seems likely that Macheda may not survive the summer exodus from old Trafford this summer. Many believe that Sir Alex Ferguson’s main transfer target, Argentinean international midfielder Nicolas Gaitan is likely to move from Benfica for an estimated £20 million, with Macheda moving permanently to the Portuguese side as part of the deal.

Macheda who is one game off 50 appearances for the United, will no doubt feel some unfinished business with English football, with no real, decent chance to prove himself and at such a young age is seems strange that he would be cast aside so early. This is of course not the first time this has happened. Alex Ferguson has already seen highly rated Giuseppe Rossi slip through his fingers after he was let go without a proper chance to establish himself. With age on his side the Italian Under-21 star has plenty of time left on his career and If the transfer of Gaitan goes through and Macheda leaves, only time will tell to see if he is able to live up to his potential and become one of the small number of players to prove Alex Ferguson wrong.

MACHEDA OUT ON LOAN

It is a well-known fact that Manchester United striker Federico Macheda will be sent out on loan next season in order to provide him with experienced before getting a shot at the Manchester United first team.

Sir Alex Ferguson has already said that in a recent interview. Hence, it was initially rumoured that Manchester United were looking at the possibility of sending back to Italy with Sampdoria on a loan deal till the end of the season. However, it is learnt that the player is against such a move because of the fact that Macheda’s earlier loan spell with the club was a major disappointment.

In the previous season, Macheda spent a large portion of the season on loan at Sampdoria after not getting regular football at Manchester United. However, the Italian youngster was extremely unlikely, as the manager who had brought him to the club was sacked immediately after a few matches following his arrival. The new manager did not see Macheda as a viable alternative to the striking options he had at the club.

FERGIE BELIEVES

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has said that he has complete faith in youngster Federico Macheda, whose loan spell with Premier league club QPR has been cut short due to an injury.

He has now returned to Manchester United will be undergoing treatment in order to return when the pre-season begins in the summer. Federico Macheda was signed by former QPR manager Neil Warnock in a move which was seen as the last hope for the Italian, who has failed to impress Sir Alex Ferguson in various loan spells. However, Ferguson has reiterated that he has complete faith in Macheda even though his loan spell has been cut short.

Immediately after the arrival of Macheda, Neil Warnock was sacked as the QPR manager. His replacement, Mark Hughes, has not seen Macheda as someone who can lead the line at the relegation threatened club. This coupled with the arrival of a number of players like Cisse has meant that the opportunities have been limited for Macheda. Now, the long term injury suffered by the Italian has prematurely brought an end to the loan spell. Ferguson revealed that Macheda will be undergoing surgery in order to recover from the injury problem.

MACHEDA WANTS TO STAY

QPR’s on loan striker Federico Macheda has said that he wants to become a first team regular at Old Trafford. Federico Macheda is currently on loan at QPR after having arrived from Manchester United in the January transfer window. This is the one of the many loan deals Federico Macheda has been part of in the last few seasons ever since making his debut for Manchester United in 2009. Despite being sent out on loan at various clubs in the last few seasons, Federico Macheda has said that his dream is to play for Manchester United as a first-team regular.

Federico Macheda made a sensational debut for Manchester United coming late on in the match against Aston Villa in 2009 to score the winner. It is a debut that will be remembered by many, but the subsequent performances has not been good enough to convince Sir Alex Ferguson to retain him at Old Trafford. Federico Macheda has admitted that Sir Alex Ferguson does have the habit of sending young players out on loan deals in order to provide them with experience before handing them a chance at Old Trafford. Federico Macheda has told an Italian radio station that midfielder Tom Cleverley is a perfect example of this case.

“I am still owned by Manchester United. I don’t know what the future will hold, but I will definitely go back to Sir Alex Ferguson’s club at the end of my loan spell. My dream is to establish myself in a United shirt, even though I know that will be difficult. I will do all I can to make that happen,” he told Radio Mana Mana. Federico Macheda has been on loan at Sampdoria last season, although he failed to score even a single goal in most 15 appearances.

HUGHES WILL REVIEW MACHEDA TWEET

QPR manager Mark Hughes has said that he will be looking at the tweet made by QPR striker Federico Macheda after the match against Everton recently. Federico Macheda made an abusive comment after being left out of the squad that was set to face Everton.

QPR came into the match against Everton knowing that they should make use of their home matches much better than they have done in recent past. However, manager Mark Hughes was coming under intense pressure after failing to change the fortunes of the club after arriving at the start of the January transfer window and spending heavily to spice up the team.

Mark Hughes has only two wins out of the eight matches he has been manager of QPR. This abysmal record would have provided Everton with a major hope of getting something from the fixture at Loftus Road. However, they were disappointed as QPR managed to come into the match and claimed a credible draw. Federico Macheda was not part of the QPR side that took on Everton at the Loftus Road.

MACKIE MAKES AN IMPRESSION

QPR striker Jamie Mackie has said that fellow QPR striker Cissé will find it hard to get back into the first-team due to his good form. Jamie Mackie scored twice for QPR in the 3-2 defeat at the hands of Blackburn Rovers last weekend. Even though it did not help QPR to get anything from the match, it at least showed Mark Hughes that he has a striker who is capable of putting the ball in the back of the net. Scoring goals has been a major problem for QPR under Neil Warnock, and it is a problem that has grown under Mark Hughes.

The arrival of Jamie Mackie up front, though, is expected to solve the problems for QPR at least now. The London club spent heavily on bringing in several players during the January transfer window. It has been estimated that they have spent close to around £ 15 million in the January transfer window alone, with the owner promising even more significant funds in the summer. Most of the players who have been signed by QPR now are strikers, which clearly shows the priority for the remainder of the season. The promise shown by Jamie Mackie will be extremely delightful for manager Mark Hughes.

“I was delighted to be up front too as I haven’t been playing there much. I’ll play wherever I’m told, but I feel my best position is up front, and that is where I can benefit the team most. When you spend a long time on the sidelines like I did, you get to work on other parts of your game, and I did spend a lot of time working in the gym,” Jamie Mackie said after the match against Blackburn. QPR will be up against Fulham in their next match.

MACHEDA HAS A NEW MANAGER

Federico Macheda arrived on loan to his new club QPR and immediately found himself at the mercy of new manager Mark Hughes. Immediately upon his arrival, QPR decided to sack the man who was responsible for bringing him to London in the first place – Neil Warnock.

However, the Italian has said that he simply wants to impress Sir Alex Ferguson more than anybody else and will be looking to work harder for QPR over the next few months. Mark Hughes will certainly be taking a look at Federico Macheda given that QPR have been struggling to score goals at home this season.

The six-month loan deal will provide Federico Macheda with a great opportunity to show Sir Alex Ferguson that he is good enough to play in the Premier League. Despite spending the last two years out on loan, Federico Macheda is still relatively young at just 19 years of age. He knows that he needs to excel at QPR in order to get any chance of playing regularly at Manchester United.
